Senator Kiko Pangilinan Will Continue A Protest For Marcos Burial

By Alon Calinao Dy: Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan did not expect that President Rodrigo Duterte should allow the  suprise burial of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr., at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani (LNMB).

The veteran senator said that President Duterte should be held “politically” accountable for not telling or announcing to the public the abrupt burial of the late President Ferdinand Marcos at the heroes' cemetery.

Sen. Kiko Pangilinan who is the new president of the Liberal Party who strongly opposed to give a proper burial for thw former president at the LNMB.

Pangilinan said “there are initiatives of this administration that are worthy of our support. The peace initiatives, for example. The issue of the ‘endo’ (end of contract), how do we protect and ensure tenure for our workers, that is something that we will support.” He did not want the decision of the Supreme Court and the president for making a sudden decision.

In a blog post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said "the late president Marcos should have been given a proper heroes' burial long time ago. That's one of the reasons why Filipinos are still now divided politically."

The decision is not only coming from the president and Supreme Court, but it is a decision of a majority of Filipinos who want to have a unity and lasting peace in the country.

Pangilinan and his cohorts have promised that they will continue to make a protest against its burial, still couldn't forget about the human rights violations during Marcos regime. As what B.J. said "whatever happened in the past belongs in the past. Learn from it, grow, and move one. Don't let it determine your future."
