Mayor Erap Estrada Appeals To Sandiganbayan Not To Freeze Son's Bank Accounts And Assets

By Alon Calinao Dy: Current Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada has challenged the state prosecuting attorneys to prove some evidences that Senator Jinggoy is guilty of plunder charges before the Sandiganbayan freezes his son’s bank accounts and assets.

Senator Jinggoy Estrada was arrested  last September 2014 in relation to his alleged participation in the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam alongside senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. The younger Estrada is currently facing plunder and graft charges.

In the television report GMA's “News TV Live” program, the former president Estrada recalled that his bank accounts and assets were also blocked when they charged him plunder cases, which he believed a baseless and false accusation.

Many news reports in different social media networks say "Erap is planning to run for president in 2016." As a popular action star in the late 1900s, Erap has a huge following in Luzon, especially in Mindanao and Visayas. This was proven when he became a new mayor in Manila and defeated incumbent Mayor Alfredo Lim on May 2013.

However, a social media user commented on Facebook, saying "Di na tayo natuto, bobo na lang ang boboto kay Erap." Erap was guilty of plunder case back in 2007, but accepted the presidential pardon of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
