Albay Representative Edcel Lagman Opposes Marcos Burial At The Libingan Ng Mga Bayani

By Alon Calinao Dy: Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman, whose activist brother Hermon disappeared during Marcos’ regime, said he doesn't agree with the decision of the Supreme Court that late President Ferdinand Marcos will be buried at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani (LNMB).

“While I respect the decision of the Supreme Court, I am puzzled to no end why the majority of the high court would allow the burial of a judicially and historically confirmed despot, plunderer, and transgressor of human rights in the Libingan ng mga Bayani,” the congressman said.

Some opponents of former president Ferdinand Marcos’ burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani said that they will continue to appeal the decision of the Supreme Court favoring the transfer of his remains.

In a blog of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said "though it is hard for others to accept the fact that people already decided to bury the remains of the late president Marcos, let his remains remain at peace in the LNMB..."

Marcos supporters said that why the opposition wants to appeal the decision of the Supreme Court and it is only now that it has already a decision to bury the former president.
