Archbishop Socrates Villegas Will Do Everything To Prevent The Restoration of Death Penalty in the Philippines

By Alon Calinao Dy:  Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines Archbishop Socrates Villegas wants every Filipino to support him on how to prevent the restoration of death penalty in the Philippines.

Archbishop Villegas said, "I am calling on the God-loving people of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan to come together in prayer to resist the threat of the death penalty in our country."

The Archbishop added, "the death penalty is contraryto our Catholic moral life. This is a conscience call to stand up for life."

In a blog post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said "it has been decades that we let the Church decide for the Filipino people, but until now the growing fears of heinous crimes continue to exist that kill many innocent people especially the children and the women. This time, Filipinos should not let the Church interfere to the good plans of the current administration."

Many Filipinos now believe that the Archbishop Villegas is using the Church for his political gains and personal interests according to what you read on social media.

One of the main problems of the Catholic Church in the Philippines is that they think God does not want Death Penalty when in fact according to Senator Manny Pacquiao "God allowed Death Penalty" to punish criminals especially those people who committed heinous crimes.

Instead of giving solutions to the government on how to prevent these crimes, leaders of CBCP encouraged people to march against the Duterte administration.

And also, speaking about forgiveness, Archbishop Villegas did not forgive the late president Ferdinand Marcos, Sr., that till now some Filipinos have hatred in their pity hearts.

I think Filipinos have already decided to bring back the penalty in the country. It is not because they support violence but it is one of the ways to instill fear in the hearts of heartless criminals who continue to rape women and kill innocent people especially the children.

Senator Manny Pacquiao, who agrees of the Death Penalty in the Philippines, has the loving heart for the poor. He helped thousands of homeless Filipinos and donated a lot of money for them.

Despite his good deeds, some critics try to discredit him. Compared to Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and Senator Leila De Lima, Pacquiao has earned true respect from the Filipinos not only in the world of boxing but also as a good public servant.

Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, a blogger and a supporter of Pacquiao said that The People's Champ true happines lies in his generous personality and is one of the promising senators today who is not corrupt and a good example for everyone.
