Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa Got Killed At Baybay City Provincial Jail
By Alon Calinao Dy: Mayor Rolando Espinosa in Albuera, Leyte, was killed by a still unknown assailant inside his cell at the Baybay City Provincial Jail early Saturday morning.
The older Espinosa had been arrested for drug-related charges and some evidences that might link him as one of the drug lords in Eastern Visayas.
Mr. Alon Dy wrote on his blog and said that "though the fight against illegal drugs of the government is hard to achieve as some high-profile government officials are involved, Filipinos are still hoping that these big syndicates will disappear someday."
Filipinos thought that Mayor Espinosa might be a big asset to pinpoint those high-profile people conducting illegal drugs in the Philippines particularly in Eastern Visayas.
Many remembered Mayor Espinosa as one of the first government officials who surrendered to the PNP last August after his name was included in a list of government officials allegedly involved in illegal durgs.
The older Espinosa claimed to know some 30 lawmakers and police commanders involved in illegal drugs. He was sure also that his son, who was called as "Big K," was one of the drug lords operating in Eastern Visayas.
Espinosa is the father of alleged drug lord Kerwin Espinosa who is in the custody of INTERPOL and is in the process of being deported in Abu Dhabi.
