Activist Renato Reyes Jr May Be Arrested For Illegal Gambling

By Alon Calinao Dy: Bayan secretary general Renato Reyes Jr., may not be constantly on the road to conduct a protest because he is allegedly one of the missed five people who played video karera in Maaralin, Diliman, Quezon City last Thursday.

The Anti-Gambling Division of Quezon City Police Office is now conducting a thorough investigation whether Reyes is involved for illegal gambling after some bystanders spotted him in the area.

According to Police Senior Superintendent Guillermo Cabugao, they have confiscated video karera machines, cash amounting more than 8 thousand pesos and four people including the owner.

Reports say that Mr. Reyes is a regular video karera player. There are witnesses in the area who could prove that a certain allegation to Mr. Reyes is true.

However, authorities are looking for a perfect timing to actually catch Mr. Reyes if he is really playing a video karera, which is considered as an illegal gambling.

After the said report, in the meantime, the activist leader Mr. Reyes is not expected to go out for a protest against the Duterte administration.

Aside from that, Reyes was considered as one of the rallyist leaders who ignited a bloody encounter outside the US Embassy in Manila between the protesters and policemen a few weeks ago.
