According to some reports, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) chairman Nur Misuari is going to talk for a lasting peace in Mindanao particularly in Jolo.

President Duterte is expecting a return call from Misuari after the MNLF chairman visited the Middle East.

President Duterte believes that Misuari is still being respected by the armed group called Abu Sayyaf, and has controlled over them in some ways.

Duterte and Misuari are two Mindanaoan leaders would be make Mindanao a better and safe place for everyone. The president would seek help to Misuari on how to stop the fighting for many decades.

In a blog post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said "who wants lasting peace in Mindanao? Of course, everyone. Let us wait and see President Duterte and MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari to have a peace talk and to settle the armed conflicts in Mindanao. I believe these two are great leaders respected by their people."

President Duterte, being a first Mindanaoan President of the Republic of the Philippines, wants to keep peace, prevent armed conflict and rebuild Mindanao that had been long forgotten by our corrupt political leaders.
