Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines Calls For Public Prayer For Senator Leila De Lima

By Alon Calinao Dy: Reports all over social media that Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has called every Catholic to have a prayer vigil for Senator Leila De Lima after their joined protests against the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes’ Cemetery).

Netizens reacted to this calling of CBCP if this is found to be true on social media that they have released an official statement regarding this call for Senator Leila De Lima.

With so many evidences implicating Senator De Lima to illegal drug trade, many Catholic people wondered why some religious leaders are using God for their political agenda.

In a blog of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said "there's nothing wrong for praying someone who is in need of help or in a crisis situation right now, but someone has to pay for their bad actions especially if it destroyed the lives of many innocent children."

Catholic Church has survived many big problems before but many faithful one have said that Catholic bishops should stay away in the dirty world of politics.

Catholic religious leaders can give their personal views but not to the extent that they would use the church for their personal gains.

As many Filipinos have opened their eyes of the things they were not aware of before, Catholic religious leaders should accept a real change that Filipinos do not want corrupt government officials and the ones who protect them because of donations they give to the church.
